Spend Data Speaks Volumes When it came to spending, Salisbury displayed economic resilience and vitality. Relative to December 2019, the city experienced a substantial 17% increase, leaving comparator cities trailing behind with an average uptick of 8%. Salisbury city centre's positive sales growth, up by an impressive 11% in December 2023 compared to the previous year, was propelled by an 8% increase in customer numbers and a 3% growth in Average Revenue Per Customer (ARPC). Flourishing Footfall Footfall data across the city collected and analysed by Salisbury BID, painted an incredibly promising and exemplary picture. The city witnessed a remarkable 5.2% increase compared to 2022, setting it apart from the South West's 1.8% decrease and the UK's modest 1.2% uptick in foot traffic. Salisbury emerged as pioneering, significantly outperforming national trends.
180,000 What's On Guides Salisbury BID's sister channel, Experience Salsibury, led on the city's cohesive Christmas campaign - from printed collateral to social media. The backbone of this campaign is the cohesive and refined city What’s On Guide which is carefully curated and designed here at the BID and received by 180,000 people.
460,000 people reached digitally The digital campaign reached new heights this year with a digital reach exceeding 460,000 people from social media, e-marketing and website content on the Experience Salisbury site and channels.
238 Pieces of Unique Content The campaign content revolved around six weekly What’s On guides on social media and the Experience Salisbury website, accompanied by 10 festive emails, 117 social media posts and 95 social media stories showcasing events, workshops, and offers. All created, managed and delivered by Salisbury BID through Experience Salisbury.
250+ Handmade Origami Stars given to 50 Businesses Over 250 handmade origami stars were distributed to 50 businesses in the city both independent and national as part of the city's wider theme.
