Call out for CCTV volunteers in Salisbury

18th October 2018

Salisbury CityWatch are recruiting for volunteers to monitor the new state-of-the-art digital CCTV system.

Jointly funded by Salisbury City Council and Salisbury BID, Salisbury CityWatch have been operating the CCTV system since September 2018, when the system was passed from Wiltshire Council to the city council.

A team of volunteers monitor the CCTV system at key times, based in a control room at Bourne Hill.

Richard Goodman, Salisbury CityWatch Manager, said: “Salisbury CityWatch is now fully up and running since the asset transfer, and we’re now looking to increase our number of CCTV volunteers.

“If you have good communication skills, are able to work to a high standard under pressure and are committed to Salisbury’s security and public safety, then we’d love to hear from you.”

All volunteers will be trained to a professional standard and will work within in a strict code of practice.

Volunteers will work with many city partners including ShopWatch, PubWatch and the Police.
