2 weeks to go until Armed Forces Day

14.06.2019

With just 2 weeks to go until the National Armed Forces Day event comes to Salisbury, businesses need to be aware of a number of restrictions that will impact your business and employees.

Road closures

Roads will be closed in the city centre on Saturday 29th June from 6am - 2pm for the military parade.

There will be no access for deliveries to businesses in the city centre between these times.

All buses and park & ride services will be dropping off at Milstream coach park between these times.

There are also a number of other road closures for the 3 days, including the A345 from Beehive roundabout to Castle Street roundabout.

Waste Bins & A Boards

All waste bins and containers must be brought inside and off the streets from 5pm Friday 28th June. If not, they will be removed by the security team and not returned.

Waste bins can be returned to their normal positions after the parade from 2pm Saturday 29th June.

The last rubbish collection will be on Friday 28th June. Businesses are required to retain their waste in their premises from Friday onwards, until the evening before their next collection.

All A boards in the city centre must be removed from the streets by Friday 5pm, as these are a trip hazard to the crowds.

Car Parks

Culver Street, Salt Lane and Central car park will remain OPEN on Saturday 29th June, but are expected to get full quickly.

Other car parks and on-street parking in the city centre must be cleared by 6am on Saturday 29th June.

Workers are encouraged to walk to work if possible, or use the bus.

Park & Ride

Friday: Operating as normal

Saturday: Operating as normal, but dropping off at Milstream coach park in the morning due to road closures for the parade

Sunday: No park & ride service into the city centre. Park & ride service to Hudson's Field only.

FAQ's & More Info

Wiltshire Council has added all the information for businesses on their website here.
