Bank of England run the free ‘Banknote Checking Scheme’ which helps protect businesses from counterfeit banknotes and keeps them up-to-date on the latest banknote news. We also provide free training materials on how to check banknotes.
The Scheme is completely free and enables businesses to:
- reduce the financial loss and reputational risks caused by counterfeit banknotes - build a relationship with the Bank of England - support their communities by preventing the spread of counterfeits and the other crimes associated with them
