Salisbury BID developed projects to increase footfall and inject merriment into the city centre following another tough year dealing with a pandemic.
Best Dressed Christmas Window
In partnership with The Salisbury Journal, Salisbury BID launched a search for the Best Dressed Christmas Window.
The BID secured a competition pack that saw all participating levy-payers receive free promotion in The Journal paper edition and online worth over £200. The top five window designs will now also receive over £1500 free advertising.
Thanks to the partnership, editorials promoting businesses ran both within the paper and online.
44 businesses took part and 2,000 votes were cast.
The overall winner was Tribbeck & Sons Jewellers. Congratulations!
The runners-up were:
Clearway Pets
The Bell & Crown
Bailey’s Domestic Appliances
Julia’s House Charity Shop
All the window designs looked fantastic and they created a beautifully illuminated city centre!
You can still see all the windows on the Experience Salisbury website.
Nutcracker Kings
This year we brought back the popular Nutcracker Kings and asked shoppers to play Hide & Seek.
The giant statues stood majestically in businesses across the city centre, with people needing to track them down in order to go into a draw to win a Salisbury Gift Card.
30 levy-payers got involved in the fun, with 10 Nutcrackers being moved to new locations every fortnight.
Love Salisbury Christmas Promotion
We had another great Christmas present for local businesses in the form of an advertising promotion with local media company, Love Salisbury!
Salisbury BID secured £15,000 of free marketing for BID levy payers as part of the promotion. The offer included free radio and newspaper advertising ahead of the Christmas period, plus social media coverage.
The campaign was a huge success with 56 levy-payers signing up to the deal.
Experience Salisbury
In the run up to Christmas, Experience Salisbury developed business led features and videos, aimed at showcasing the city centre offer.
Seven business focussed blogs were created and four videos featuring over 50 local businesses – all of which were promoted through their popular social media channels.
