Launched by Salisbury BID in June, the card is designed to support local consumer spending and keep money in the city.
Thousands of pounds has already been spent by cardholders in participating shops, cafes, bars, restaurants and other businesses.
With Christmas on the way, the BID is urging more employers in and around the city to consider offering the card to employees.
“It’s an ideal opportunity to reward staff with a Christmas bonus and say thank you for their work this year or to honour long service over a period of years,” said BID Chief Executive Robin McGowan.
“Everyone will be buying Christmas presents over the coming weeks and the gift card is a perfect way to keep some of that spending within Salisbury.”
As well as retailers, the card can be used at businesses specialising in leisure, health and beauty, entertainment and tourism.
Among the first national brands to come on board were Marks & Spencer, Subway, Topshop, McDonalds and Costa.
Independents signed up to accept the gift card include JAS Hair Salon, Pritchetts Butchers, Fisherton Mill, Casa Fina, Shirley Snells and Allum & Sidaway.
Consumers can readily see if businesses are taking part as each has a branded window sticker on display.
The card operates in the same way as any other store gift card and is pre-loaded with spending options from £10 up to £500.

Alternatively, it is available to purchase at the Information Centre in Fish Row, Salisbury Playhouse in Malthouse Lane, and Salisbury Museum in the Cathedral Close.

Robin added: “With so many different places to use it, and with the range of spending options, this versatile card really is the perfect Christmas present for family, friends and colleagues.
