Remembrance Weekend in Salisbury

Sunday 11th November 2018 marks the centenary of the end of World War 1 and a number of special events are taking place to commemorate the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

We Will Remember Them Concert at City Hall Salisbury

Binding the Past to the Present Through Remembrance at Salisbury Cathedral
Friday 26th October 2018 to Sunday 25th November 2018: Local artist Suzie Gutteridge and Salisbury Cathedral have to brought the 'Binding the Past to the Present Through Remembrance' exhibition to the Cathedral. One hundred puttees have been hung and decorated with thousands of hand-crafted poppies as a moving tribute to those who lost their lives in battle. Find out more...

Royal British Legion Poppies Installation at Salisbury Cathedral
Thursday 8th November 2018 to Sunday 11th November: Over Armistice weekend the West Front of the Cathedral will be illuminated by The Royal British Legion Poppies installation, a gigantic colour projection of 'tumbling poppies' that will run over four nights from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th November, marking the centenary of the end of World War 1. Find out more...

Rememberance Sunday at Salisbury War Memorial
Sunday 11th November at 11am: The annual Rememberance Sunday Service is led by the Salisbury Branch of the Royal British Legion and will gather at the War Memorial for a 2 minutes silence. The parade will march along New Canal before processing to the Sunday Service at St. Thomas's Church. Find out more...
