Award judges praised his leadership, co-ordination and management in the wake of the incident, working closely with a range of partners to support the city.
Speaking at the awards ceremony in Hull, Ojay McDonald, Acting Chief Executive of ATCM, cited Robin’s communications handling, liaison with city businesses and face-to-face meetings with Theresa May, Prince Charles and Environment Secretary Michael Gove as vital elements in the recovery strategy.
Ojay said: “With the support of Robin and his team, the city is once again in a position to think about its long-term future.
“Robin has demonstrated what place leaders can achieve in the face of great adversity.”
In response, Robin said: “I’m honoured to receive this award and to be recognised by my peers.
“It has been a challenging time for Salisbury, its citizens and its businesses but we are working together to help Salisbury's recovery.
“I offer a big thank you to my team, our BID Directors, members, and our recovery partners for everyone’s ongoing efforts.”
Among recent initiatives since March, Salisbury BID has launched the city’s first shoppers’ gift card and a joint procurement scheme designed to help businesses save money on utility and other services.
The ATCM is a respected voice for town and city management at UK, European and wider global levels.
Members come from the public, private and third sectors and will typically be developing and implementing shared visions, strategies and action plans for town and city centres throughout the UK.
In partnership with VisitWiltshire, Salisbury BID co-fund the Visit Salisbury website to promote the city to visitors. The Visit Salisbury website has a full events calendar for Salisbury.
