Salisbury BID spreads the shop local message this Christmas

20th November 2021

We are now just five weeks from Christmas day and with present buying on everyone’s mind, Salisbury BID (Business Improvement District) is stressing the importance of shopping local.

It has been a tough couple years for businesses, but we can all help by getting behind local retailers and hospitality venues by supporting them this festive season.

Dan Collins, Salisbury BID Business Manager, said: “Salisbury has a huge array of independent businesses, it is one of the many reasons why the city is special and unique.

Local businesses are the backbone of the community and by shopping local this Christmas, we can all help to keep money in the local economy and keep our high street strong. The message really is: use it or lose it.”

David Gladden, owner of Timber Treasures on Salisbury High Street, said: “It really is important to support the small guys like me because we won’t be there another year if we don’t get support.

Most of our products are made in and around Salisbury, therefore it carries with it all the benefits of supporting the local economy if you come and buy it.”

Salisbury is lucky to have a large diverse range of independent businesses that provide unique products and excellent service. Find them on the Experience Salisbury website.
