Salisbury Business Celebrates Win

14th April 2021

It isn’t just the reopening of hairdressers that Salisbury’s Toni&Guy has been celebrating this week, they have also been celebrating a big win for one of their rising young stars.

Salisbury BID is congratulating young hairstylist Annabel Payne who has made it onto The It List, a nationwide competition recognising the best emerging talent in UK and Irish hairdressing. She’s now gone on to pick up The Rising Star title at a glamorous presentation hosted by Russell Kane.

The award is handed out to a young salon assistant who’s enthusiastic, hardworking and fast improving – and Annabel can’t believe the judges chose her: “Thank you so, so much, this is a huge shock, I can’t believe it. I want to say a huge thank you to everyone at Toni&Guy, especially Lou and George and the team in Salisbury. I can’t believe I’m here to be honest.”

At just 20 years of age, Annabel is at the very start of her hairdressing career but the award judges found she is already showing outstanding promise. A passion for editorial work has already seen her assist the International Art Directors at Toni&Guy, and she now plans to extend her avant-garde and men’s skills, in order to grow her clientele.

Amanda Nottage is editor of Creative HEAD, the influential industry magazine that presented the awards. She said: “Annabel epitomises what modern hairdressing is all about. Her focus and drive always to improve and upskill will stand her in good stead in her career, and she is already embracing the unique opportunities to work creatively within fashion that hairdressing brings. A true star in the making, we shall be keeping a close eye on Annabel at Creative HEAD!”
