The initiative is jointly funded by Salisbury BID and Salisbury City Council.
The coach ambassador’s role is to welcome and assist visitors arriving by coach, group organisers, and coach drivers to maximise the enjoyment of their visit.
They will also be promoting events and local businesses such as attractions, restaurants and shops.
They will be interacting with visitors as they disembark from the coach, providing detailed local knowledge and advice as well as giving out Salisbury BID’s maps.
It is hoped the support and welcome received by these groups will encourage further visits to Salisbury.
Based at Salisbury Information Centre in Fish Row, Michael and Emily are the Salisbury Coach Ambassadors for this summer. They will be in the city covering Monday through to Saturday for 11 weeks until 8th September.
Easily identifiable in their bright red polo shirts and jackets with “Salisbury Coach Ambassador” on the back, they will be working between the coach drop off point in St. John Street and Millstream Coach Park.
Salisbury BID and Salisbury City Council have also jointly funded the floral displays in the city centre this summer.
In partnership with VisitWiltshire, Salisbury BID co-fund the Visit Salisbury website to promote the city to visitors. The Visit Salisbury website has a full events calendar for Salisbury.
