Social distancing may help mitigate the coronavirus crisis, but it also threatens to destroy small businesses.
If you're able to, and if it's safe to do so, please support Salisbury's city centre businesses.
Here's ways in which you can support businesses:
Order a delivery or take away
The Prime Minister advised the public on 16th March that we should "avoid pubs, clubs… and other such social venues."
If the government says we shouldn't go to restaurants, then let the restaurants come to you! Many eateries are still offering a take away or delivery service.
Lots of Salisbury's eateries are partners of Deliveroo (who are offering a contact-free delivery), Just Eat or offer their own delivery service.
Shop independent
Retailers are in crisis at the moment. Some of the larger chains may be able to survive this pandemic, whereas independent businesses won't.
Visit the Salisbury Indies website to see a directory of independent businesses who would very much appreciate your support at this time.
Many of them have online shops and are offering a delivery service. Please contact them via phone, their website or social media if you're unable to visit them in person.

Buy a Salisbury Gift Card
The Salisbury Gift Card supports businesses by keeping spend in our city centre businesses. It's accepted by over 130 shops, restaurants and venues.
If you can't get into the city right now to buy a gift for someone, buy a Salisbury Gift Card online (delivery is free) and they can spend it in businesses at a later date.
In partnership with VisitWiltshire, Salisbury BID co-fund the Visit Salisbury website to promote the city to visitors. The Visit Salisbury website has a full events calendar for Salisbury.
