Salisbury BID is reminding local people that they can do their bit to support the city’s businesses by giving a Salisbury Gift Card.
The Salisbury Gift Card scheme was launched in June 2018 and is funded and managed by Salisbury BID.
It’s a pre-loaded Mastercard and works in the same way as any other shop gift card but has the added benefit of being able to be spent in over 130 businesses in the city centre.
Businesses accepting the Salisbury Gift Card include shops, cafes, restaurants, salons, entertainment venues, leisure outlets and more, and include both national brands and independents. A full list of places that accept the Salisbury Gift Card can be found here.
The Salisbury Gift Card is designed to support businesses by keeping more consumer spend in the city centre. It encourages people into the city to spend their gift card, rather than being spent online or in other towns and cities.
Salisbury Gift Cards can usually be purchased directly from the Information Centre (Fish Row) and Salisbury Playhouse, but despite the temporary closure of these sales points, Salisbury Gift Cards can still be purchased online.
Salisbury Gift Cards purchased online with be processed and posted within 24 hours; delivery remains free.
Salisbury Gift Cards have an expiry date of 12 months, however due to the uncertainty of when the majority of businesses can re-open, Salisbury BID has confirmed they will happily extend the expiry date of any unspent gift cards that were purchased during the coronavirus pandemic.
Susi Mason, Salisbury BID Director and owner of Casa Fina, said: “Now more than ever, we really need the local people of Salisbury to shop local. If people don’t come in and support our businesses in the city centre, we really will lose them.
“You can do your bit to support our businesses by purchasing a Salisbury Gift Card as a gift for a friend or family member. Salisbury Gift Cards can be spent in over 130 businesses in the city centre, so with the huge choice on offer, it really does make the perfect gift for everyone.”
