Update on coronavirus cash grants for businesses

30th March 2020

Wiltshire Council has confirmed the registration form for the cash grants for businesses will be open later this week.

The government announced cash grants for businesses to support them through the coronavirus pandemic.

  • £10,000 grants for the smallest businesses eligible for Small Business Rates Relief
  • £25,000 grants for the small retail, hospitality and leisure sector businesses (with a rateable value less than £51,000)

Wiltshire Council will be posting letters and grant claim forms to those businesses who are eligible for these grants on Monday 30th and Tuesday 31st March.

It is vital that businesses go back to Wiltshire Council with the information required as quickly as possible so that Wiltshire Council can release the grants to help support businesses during these challenging times.

The information required on the form is to help ensure the grants go to eligible businesses to prevent fraud. Your Business Rates Account Number will be required, so ensure you have that ready to hand.

Grants will start to be paid from next week onwards (6th April) and will take 2 days for grants to appear in bank accounts.

To help businesses who can’t access their business premises, Wiltshire Council will be uploading a grant claim form onto their website later this week so the businesses who think they're eligible can provide the information required and return it to Wiltshire Council without the need to pick up the letter from their business premises.

Businesses can contact Wiltshire Council on Covid-19businesssupport@wiltshire.gov.uk.

Salisbury BID will circulate the grant claim form link to their levy payers once Wiltshire Council has release the information. Follow Salisbury BID on Facebook and Twitter and sign up to receive our e-news updates.
