Update On COVID-19 Business Grants

15th January 2021

Wiltshire Council has issued an update regarding eligibility for business grants announced by the Chancellor.

Wiltshire Council say they have now received the government guidance on eligibility for the post-5 January lockdown grant from government, which was announced by the Chancellor at the start of lockdown.

The only businesses that can apply for this grant are those that are eligible for the Local Restrictions Support Grant (LRSG) scheme.

Find out if you are eligible at Financial support for businesses during coronavirus (COVID-19) - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

If you have already applied for an LRSG, you do not need to apply again – if your business is eligible you receive a 42-day LRSG payment and a one-off payment. If you have not already applied for an LRSG, you have until 31st March 2021 to do so.

If you have already applied for the LRSG, you will also automatically be entitled to a payment from 16 to 30 December. You do not need to contact Wiltshire Council about this – once they receive this funding from government, they will make the payments.

If you have already applied for another grant since 5th November, you do not need to re-apply at this time. If the Council needs more information from you, or they need you to re-apply, they will get in touch, so please ensure Covid-19BusinessSupport@wiltshire.gov.uk is added to your email safe list so important emails do not go to your junk folder.

The Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG, also known as Discretionary Payments) is currently closed, though Wiltshire Council says it does expect to reopen this for new applications only in the next few weeks. If you have already applied for an ARG, please do not re-apply.
