Salisbury BID is working to increase footfall and spend across the city centre in the run up to Christmas.
A Best Dress Christmas Window competition is being launched in partnership with the Salisbury Journal which shoppers will be able to vote on, and the popular Nutcracker Kings have returned!
Ten of the impressive 6ft 5” statues have been hidden around Salisbury, if you find one you could win a £50 Salisbury Gift Card!
They are located in businesses across the city centre from today (19th November). If you come across one, take a selfie with it and post it on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter. When you post, please make sure to tag Experience Salisbury and Salisbury BID as well as using the hashtag #SalisburyNutcracker and the business where you took the photo. You will then go into the draw to win a Salisbury Gift Card.
The location of the Nutcrackers will change every two weeks. There will be a draw at the end of each two-week period (3rd, 17th and 31st December 2021). Each of the three winners will receive a £50 Salisbury Gift Card.
Debbie Norton, owner of Pure Comfort on Winchester Street, jumped at the chance of hosting a Nutcracker King: “I’m absolutely delighted to be part of the Nutcracker King Hide and Seek competition. I hope it brings a lot of people into the store to see him. This kind of thing does entice people to walk around the city further than within the inner part of it and discover the smaller roads. It’s great. It encourages people to walk further.”
More details on the Nutcracker Kings Hide and Seek competition, plus terms and conditions, can be found on the Experience Salisbury website.
In partnership with VisitWiltshire, Salisbury BID co-fund the Visit Salisbury website to promote the city to visitors. The Visit Salisbury website has a full events calendar for Salisbury.
