Become a Voluntary BID Levy-Payer

Businesses within the BID boundary with a rateable value of £10,000 or above automatically become a Salisbury BID levy payer and is required to pay the annual BID levy.

Levy payers have access to the BID’s services and can get involved with projects. They will also receive a vote when it comes to the BID's renewal ballot in 2024 and are able to apply to join the BID’s Board of Directors.

Businesses below the rateable value threshold or outside of the BID's boundary can also pay into the BID.

Within the BID Boundary

Businesses within the BID boundary but are below the £10,000 rateable value threshold are exempt from paying the BID levy.

These businesses can become a voluntary levy-payers for £150 + VAT per year.

Voluntary levy-payers have access to the BID’s schemes, services  and can get involved with projects.

However, voluntary levy-payers will not be able to join the BID’s Board of Directors and will not have a vote when it comes to the BID’s renewal ballot in 2024.

Outside the BID Boundary

Many businesses outside of the BID’s boundary, but are within the Salisbury area, choose to pay into the BID as their corporate social responsibility.

These businesses will be charged 1.5% of their rateable value.

Businesses outside the BID’s boundary will only have access to a limited number of the BID’s appropriate services and projects - this will be decided on a case by case basis.

These businesses will not be able to join the BID’s Board of Directors and will not have a vote when it comes to the BID’s renewal ballot in 2024.
