Salisbury Business Improvement District

Exciting plans for Indies group

21st January 2020

The group for Salisbury Independent businesses is relaunching and all indie businesses are encouraged to get involved.

Salisbury’s independent businesses are one of the many reasons why people visit the city. With over 200 independent businesses within the city centre, Salisbury has a truly unique offering.

To help promote and connect independent businesses in the city, the Salisbury Independents group was established back in 2012.

The group is relaunching to encourage engagement from more businesses and to introduce a new direction with fresh promotional campaigns.

As the city’s business improvement district, Salisbury BID is providing the Indies group with operational and financial support for marketing and promotion.

The BID has also set up an online forum which will connect the independent businesses; allowing them to share ideas, work together more closely and discuss any issues they may have as an independent business owner.

The next meeting
A meeting was held before Christmas to decide to relaunch the group. The next meeting is being held on Monday 28th January and a new Chair and committee will be selected. Book a place at the meeting here.

All independent businesses within the ring-road of Salisbury are invited to attend the meeting and join the Indies group.

How to get involved
To become a member of the Salisbury Independents group, businesses are required to sign up here.

Salisbury BID members can join the group for free. Non-BID members are welcome to join the Indies group for £50 + VAT per year, as long as they are within the BID area.

The group is open to all types of businesses; shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, hotels, professional services and more.

A message from the Chair
Susi Mason, owner of Casa Fina and Chair of the Salisbury Independents group, said: “This is a really exciting time for the Indies group and we’re encouraging all the independent businesses in the city to get involved.

“There were some great ideas and suggestions at the first meeting, and with the support from the BID, we can now take those ideas forward and deliver some excellent promotions for businesses.”
