Business Support Partnerships
The BID work closely with local business organisations and authorities to create strong business partnerships to help improve the business environment of the city through communication and reduction in duplicate activities. These organisations include:

Footfall and Spend Analysis:
One of the first focuses of the BID was to install footfall counters in the city to help analyse trends in footfall and have been able to benchmark Salisbury against the south west and nationally, these footfall counters are located in the High Street, Fisherton Street, and Queen Street, please click here to see our latest monthly footfall reports.
In 2016, we started monitoring businesses spend and producing a weekly spend analysis report, report information is gathered across a small section of city retailers, who provide us with statistics and percentage changes on the previous weeks and previous years. Once this information is collated a report is produced for both the individual business who have taken part and for the city as a whole, we can then bench mark this against previous weeks and years to consider any city trend as well as linking to events in the city.
Local Independent Businesses:
The BID passionately supports Salisbury’s thriving scene of independent businesses. The city has over 200 ‘Indies’, made up of different business sectors and includes retailers, food & drink outlets, as well as health and beauty. BID works closely with Salisbury’s Indies group to promote them, collaborating on marketing campaigns, such as the annual Indies month and the Salisbury Independent’s map. Networking and Training Events:
Salisbury BID have worked with partners to offer reduced cost or free training sessions and networking events available to all levy paying businesses and their employees, examples of these include co funding with the Salisbury Business Chamber and FSB for 60 Minutes networking breakfasts and support of the Salisbury BIG Business Event which includes free seminars and training workshops.
BID is extremely keen to celebrate the achievements of local businesses. We have regularly supported the South Wilts Business of the Year awards, this year being the judges of the Retailer of the Award.
