What BID have delivered so far:
In 2015, Salisbury BID collaborated with VisitWiltshire to create Visit Salisbury a tourism destination website. This platform is used to promote tourism in the area by providing tourists and locals with information and options regarding accommodation, events, food and drink establishment, entertainment venues, shopping areas, the site also offers businesses the opportunity to list offers and add their events to the sites extensive what’s on listing and all BID members are featured on Visit Salisbury.
City Marketing & Promotion
Salisbury BID were the key drivers in the creation of a city brand, Salisbury City of Stories, this branding has been instrumental in the cities cohesiveness and uniformity to residents and tourism. Through this branding BID have created a substantial social media following who can be targeted with events, offers and news. The BID has also introduced group travel trade guides for travel organisations highlighting the group friendly activities Salisbury has to offer and also lists BID members who are group friendly, from food and drink venues, attractions and accommodation providers who have the capacity for large group trade.
Salisbury BID have further invested in the City, by becoming a city partner with the Visit Wiltshire Travel Trade group, this gives the BID opportunities to publicise Salisbury as a destination to the group travel market, Alongside this BID have also compiled a comprehensive travel trade database for use in targeted marketing campaigns.
Mini Guide and Map
BID have produced a comprehensive and engaging Salisbury city guide and map, to assist with the navigation of the city by visitors. The map includes a handy guide to all Salisbury’s main attractions, as well as a comprehensive and easy to read map of the city. Copies can be picked up from the Salisbury Information Centre and from dispensers which are installed at strategic locations such as the coach park, train station and at many of Salisbury’s shops, attractions and hotels.
BID provide businesses with a monthly newsletter electronically and hard copy to advise businesses what marketing opportunities are available to them and what the BID team have been up to over the last month.

Salisbury BID are working hard to create new and original ideas to draw people in to the city, these include shopping trails, promotional giveaways, and publicity events as well as unique ideas to increase the profile of the city.
Salisbury Christmas Market
Salisbury BID organise and run the annual Salisbury Christmas market which attracts over 200,000 people to the city during the festive season. The Salisbury Christmas market was voted one of the best Christmas markets in the UK by the Telegraph in 2016. 2017 will see changes at the Salisbury Christmas Market as it enters its sixth year as it will host over 100 exhibitors in 2 locations with the addition of the new Artisan Row on the High Street that will spread the market across the city.Go to Salisbury Christmas Market website
